Default Filled in berger panel

I am looking to fill in my berger panel, completely remove the CAMARO lettering. What would I need to do to do this and not have any cracking or have it look like crap?

most likely bondo to fill in the holes, sand it smooth, primer it, then paint it

Except the panel isn't metal it is like stamped fiberglass. And it is my understanding that bondo doesn't work that well for these.

Filled mine haven't had any issues so far aside from where I didnt sand it smooth enough where the C was, there's a bit of a dent but I am happy with it.

Just scuff up really good where the lettering was and do layers of bondo not just a ton at once.

i would recommend also drilling a series of small holes within the letters themselves. then if you buy a small can of bondo they usually will come with a mesh backing. i placed the mesh into the letters after drilling the holes.

Yeah I have done bout 2 layers so far, it looks great, letters are filled in and it worked well. I used a dremel to sand down the insides of the lettering and got it really scuffed up, it looked like *** before bondo, hahahaha.

I will take some pics when I finish, I got the letters filled in excellentyl yesterday, but still need to work down the bondo and smoth it all out, I started to paint and could see where the bondo spot was and then proceeded to kick myself in the *** for not spending more time on the final snading of it. Plus I need to get some primer. This is really my frist project like this, not too bad so far, I rate it a difficulty of 3 maybe 4 on a scale of 10.

also if you want drill a handful of small holes so the bondo has something to grab ahold of. i did that before and it held for a while. i sold it to a guy who sold it to a guy. 6 people later it still held and im not sure where its at now.

Looks good right now, all i did was dremel the crap out of the letters to make them rough and it appears to be working right now.

Now I just have to sand down primer and paint.

^^^ how the hell can you see those pics?!

but i do like the idea of taking the letters out, i like the individuality of it. i'm just not patient enough, i want it done and installed in the least amount of time.

i'm working on doing mine right now...

I've only done sanding so far, and i'm also filling in the key hole, since it's never been used, and I've got the trunk popper on the key less entry. I found that a quarter is perfect for capping off the hole so it can be filled, fits nice and snugg.

body filler will bond to fiberglass without any problem what so ever when done right, drilling holes isnt just a waste of time but i good way to make the glass start to crack and spread over time, just scratch the glass up, clean and prep it and there will be no issues, with that said you can actually buy fiberglass filler, id recommend using it then a body filler to smooth it up, as body filler isnt intended for a thick layer. also bondo is a cheap brand, that isnt worth the container its in. for those who care to do the job right.
