Default Anyone Work on Fiberglass Firewall Before? Need Help! Thanks!

My 01 C5 vette had an engine fire, R side of firewall around brake booster area is my major concern. From what I can find out GM does not sell a firewall kit(at least that my guy could find) and I don't know what kind of job it would be to R&I a junkyard doner as opposed to patching my current one.

If I go the patch route, should I worry about integrity around the booster, it is really soft all the way through and from what I can see the whole brake booster and pedal are in direct contact with this possibly patched weak area.

Any help or ideas would be great, I gotta figure this out asap! Thanks!

I'd look to get at least a portion of the original piece from a donor car and either glass it or bond it in. If you use glass to repair it make sure you use epoxy resin and not polyester resin. Epoxy will form a far more permanent bond with the SMC original part.

Looks like I am going to lean toward a replacement from the junkyard(have seen them 350-500. Is there any tricks to getting the old piece out? Thanks
