Would a CETA Clone be "Taboo" ?

Maybe the CETA design isnt very aggressive... Thats fine. My motor is.
Also like you said.... I was thinking about having the stripes airbrushed on. but having the painter modify the stripes maybe.[/QUOTE]
haha deffinitly i thought i saw somewhere u wanted it to look aggressive too

I use to think that anyone that tries to clone any car that it had better be near exact of the original otherwise it'll look fake.
While the CETA's looks isn't for everyone it no doubts gets its fair share... mostly envy! Like they say imitation is the purest form of flattery! The CETA is often imitated but never duplicated.
With so many T/A's owners taking styling cues from the CETA it'll be nice to see one close to the original. I don't know if you've taken a good look at one but yellow covers every inch of the car so your biggest challenge will be painting the car completely yellow to conceal the black.
I say if you do it do it right!

I see nothing wrong with the yellow paint, I'd just stay away from the emblems. I do think if you paint the car to be like a CETA you may want to consider using the C5 or C6 yellow color which would probably look nicer than the CETA yellow.

I don't see anything wrong with it, it's a very nice theme imo. It's just like the people who make old school or moder day SS clones. If anything, I'd consider using the CETA theme but use different colors.
Just some examples...
Body/Roof, Bumper, & Stripes/ Wheels
Artic White/ Black/ Black
Cyber Gray Metallic/ Black/ Black
Dark Red/ Black/ Black
Metallic Black/ Red/ Red (or Metallic Black)
Jet Stream Blue Metallic/ Black/ Black
Velocity Yellow/ Black/ Black
Sunset Orange Metallic/ Black/ Black
Artic White/ Red/ Red
You could always look into candy paint since you want to car to stand out a bit but that all depends on what you like. Just my $.02

im contradicting myself. lol
I said i want a more agressive hood.
It may not make sense... but, first... im not gonna do a "CETA" and use my firehawk hood. That would look dumb, i think.
So, not to put on a stock hood. i thought id get a WS9 Outlaw Hood.
It is.

I would never do the yellow paint alone. I saw the CETA that GM had with the 454 and they removed the stripes... Looked dumb.
Id actually like trim the CETA yellow in Carbon Fiber. As that was my plan with the black... But i was thinkin, rather than painting the sail panel black... Id wrap one in CF... but Ill have to see. Id love to have 8k to get some CF wheels to match everything.

guess im a little different, i ike the flat tone of th CETA yellow than those on the vettes. and i think its actually more "aggressive" than the other two as well. and with the growl that your cars gonna have. throw in the darker, contrasting pieces, tints, rims (black/gun metal), rear bumper, whatever stripes and hood you choose, and you've got yourself a winner

Ive always loved the CETA yellow... and Id love to have one.
I wasnt planning on painting my car... but as you can see in my build thread, I am doing lots of work, and re-doing the whole car. so it would be a great time for a re-spray.
I never wanted a black car... the lines just seem to bleed away.
So i want a lighter color or something bright.
like the CETA yellow..
or maybe a pearl silver.
But really my question is... Would a CETA Clone be taboo...
I dont want to be 'that guy' with the fake CETA...
but im sure people would be just as pissed if i bought a CETA as violated it as i did this one.
Itll have an 454 LSX all motor. (LS7 based)
In advance. That you for your opinions.

Yea, I like the CETA more. I just love the combo. I think its perfect.
You also have a great point.
Maybe... That might be cool.
Yea, i just tried to pull pics from the internet.
You'd need to see them all together in person. under the same lighting conditions.
I wasnt saying its impossible.
Your car is awesome.

A CETA clone wouldn't be taboo, just ugly. Unless you're going to copy it exactly do a different color, go with a custom color. Look at House of Color or something like that. Find a yellow no one else has.
