Default new nbm paint

new to the forum thing so i thought i would give it a shot.
I have a 1998 z28 camaro hard top found it here in vegas for 2500 . the paint when i bought it was horrible, they used a cheap paint and cheap clear coat. everything was peeling. i just decided to get it painted and it is still in the process of paint. i have done all the labor myself. they only thing i am not doing is painting it. so far it is looking really great. i am 18 and this car has sucked all the money out of me lol. will have pics up when it is completed. hopefully some of you are impressed lol seen some cars up here that are amazingly nice.

Welcome to the site. Definitely post pics when it's completed. As long as the prep work is done correctly, it will definitely show when you get some paint laid down.

I've got a soft spot for NBM Z28's, be sure to post up pics when you're done! Oh, and good find in Vegas. My cousin is from there and said he couldn't find a halfway decent V8 F-Body anywhere that didn't cost an arm and a leg.

Looks good from the pics. Man this makes me want to jump on paint first with my car and put off the suspension for now. My cars NBM too and the paint isnt perfect either. Sucks to have a different shade fender then the rest of the car or atleast it does for me.

Thanks for the replys. I actually got a really good deal on it. I did all the prep Work and a friend of mine has a body shop so he had one of his workers paint it for me. But if I wouldve gotten it without a deal it would be around $3,000-3,500. With paint and labor. I did something diff with my car and I don't think it shows in the pics but my sail panels and roof are a semi gloss black instead of a high gloss black. Again I will have better pics soon these iPhones don't take good pics lol

Tell them to wet sand and buff it, lots of orange peel in the pic of the hood. It will look 100x better, but it does look great as it is.

We did wet sand and buff it. The pic your talking about was before the wet sand and buff. I did all the wet sanding. Was to scared to buff didn't want to burn my paint after all the hard work

I'm doing the same to my car, clear was peeling everywhere, that includes factory panels, though most had been repainted several times (door had 4 paint jobs). Those fiberglass and SMC panels were a pain in the *** to strip huh? I've still got 1 door and 1 fender to DA the clear off then it's all primer and block from there. No pics yet, don't wanna hijack your thread anyhow.

Don't blame you, hoods like that are difficult to buff, I've done a few jags with similar hoods.
