Default ebay ss hood turned out great looking but...

recently got my whole car repainted along with a ebay fiberglass ss hood. The hood was a disaster to prep and had to be painted 2x but it came out looking flawless and fits perfect...only thing.. this hood is extremley light and i feel like im going to break it everytime i close it.. do any of you have a hood like this? anyone have any problems? btw i will have pics posted of new paintjob and hood asap. ty

No, the stock SS hood on mine feels very sturdy.

Most aftermarket SS hoods are lighter, fit like ****, and make a better lift off hood since they are structurally garbage.

Gonna have to agree with the above post. I have an aftermarket fiberglass WS6 hood and it too feels very weak and liable to break every closing. Every time I pop the hood I always check the attaching points all around because I'm convinced it's gonna crack one day.

Of course, the alternative is paying almost $2K for an OEM hood (at least for the WS6 hood), or scouring ebay and getting into a bidding war, and/or having to deal with seller nonsense.

Oh btw, are you using your stock hood struts? I'd recommend against it. I bought aftermarket struts rated at 35#, I think...

I have a ebay SS hood and it fits worse than anything I've ever seen! Prep work for it was horrible then once it was painted and put on the hood didn't have enough bow in it. I HATE IT!

for aftermarket hoods, I only go through Goodmark for steel reproduction, or Cervini's for fiberglass. Cervini's fits AMAZING and they are structurally strong. Great product
