Wow, dude I have been a member of this site since its 3rd week in existence. THis is the first I ever seen of this. I like the LT1 Trans Ams but not better than the LS1's and the LT1 Firebirds and Formulas are the worse looking fourth gens IMHO. I'm also the guy who hates WS6 hoods except on the cars they belong on. How is the car glad you made it back to LI without run ins with the Law! lol take care

Your best bet is to find someone in your area that wants to trade. Getting all the pieces you need is such a chore if you do them one at a time. I did my car with a 98+ style front. It is easy to do, just need every bracket, bolt, and part. If you can find someone with the same color car that's even better. Less money for paint = more mod money.

do it OP
to me the LS1 front end looks like an afterthought design. way over the top. (no offense to anyone.)
If I was you OP, is find a LT1 car wrecked from behind or maybe the quarters, and take the front end.
for me

BUT the Firehawk looks well thought out for the LS1

BTW... the LT1 Firebird/Formula fascia isn't all that good looking either. To be honest, I didn't really care for the 4th gen Trans Am until the '96 WS6 model came out.

You guys aren't the only ones that feels that way. The headlamp doors on the LS1 cars totally kills the look IMO. Then you have that WS6 hood that makes the front-end look like it has 4 nostrils. I also hate the way the front-end was chopped off making it look blunt. I think it's like 4 inches shorter. Finally, there's the turn signals and additional ducts which makes 4 more openings. That's 10 openings on the front-end if you include the fog lamps.

I think the LS WS6 looks terrible because the scoops look tacked on, they dont follow the lines of the car (Firehawk, completely different story)
I wanted a Formula because I thought the Trans Am front end looked weird, then when they added the Ram Air hood in 96

i like the 98 ta front better because the ram air hoods flow better compared to a ram air hood on a lt1
as far as camaros, i prefer the lt1 front. plus theres better lip spoilers for the lt1 front bumper on camaros. i do like the headlights on the ls1 though compared to the rectangle lt1 ones. i seen where someone modified ls1 lights to fit a lt1 camaro.

because I respectfully disagree if you mean design flow
I say this because the LT1 ws6 hood curves out of the hood and its a seamless addition
while the LS1 ws6 hood simply juts out of the front bumper,
the ram air holes on the hood dont match the lower holes on the bumper, and have the creases around the holes,
the lip of the hood doesnt blend with the bumper it has an overhang
and the rib separating the 2 holes isnt consistent between the bumper and the hood.
this is why I have said that the WS6 hood on the LS1s looks like a design after thought

are you talking about air flow? or design flow

ha.. i was actually talking about strictly looks.. the ram air hood just matches the ls1 front bumper real good. the ram air hood on the lt1s just looks out of place to me. could be because i seen alot of ls1 ram air hoods and then started seeing lt1 ram air hoods years later. so it seems odd to me.

if you cleaned up just a few details the hood would look so much better
