Rear bumper widening (pics)

+1 Definitely think 6LE would do a good job marketing it.

I really can't make or sell any at this time. I started working weekends and lately have been dealing with trying to replace the transmission on my Bird and the water pump on my DD. Maybe in the future through 6LE. We will see.

Made a tiny bit of progress on the bracket set for a friend of mine. Still need to buy hardware and figure out how I'm going to trim them to the right length so there is no excess metal hanging out. It's tough not having all the original tools at my disposal, since I haven't been able to use my parents garage where I originally made these.
The one on the bottom is the test piece that came off my car to use for hole reference points:

A more useful pic of the test piece to show how it works:

The intake manifold was painted flourescent pink with a clearcoat before he bought it, so instead of repainting he just threw it on. lol.

So when I removed the bracket, I noticed that at the top edge (where the bumper meets the quarter panel) the bumper was flaring outward (as a result of the outward flexing for long periods of time from the bottom of the bumper).
Not sure how long it would take to return back to normal should you remove these brackets.
Going to test that theory out this weekend and remove the brackets and see what happens.

Looks great!! Definitely something I was thinking about doing to my LT1 Formula but now it will get done during the bodywork phase. The front needs to be done to match the rear IMO sort of like 2nd gen T/A flares. Probably wouldn't look as good on the front of LS1 Birds but maybe??
On the 6 cyl parts car I will try it first. Filler panels and covers instead of brackets though painted body color. Keep out the Arizona sand and mud...

Made some prototypes for ya, Superman... Installed pics later. The "new" design allows for two somewhat different looks. Flared (what I have right now), and flat (straight up and down). Flat won't keep the sand/mud/rubber off the bumper like the flared out setting will. Guess you could keep it at Flat for street driving and then set it to flared for track days?
Left to right:
Flared | Flat | Bumper mount
Flared & Flat are the holes that mount to the chassis side. Bumper mount mounts to the plastic on the bumper.
Drilled & cut the brackets, then ground the corners smooth with a bench grinder (so you don't slice your fingers on install...) then did a shitty engine enamel black paintjob to prevent any possible rust (the original brackets still haven't rusted, so it's just a precaution).
