It's not really a permanent product. While it holds up well it should really be used to test ideas out, like spraying his CCWs or his bumper to see if he actually likes it before taking the plunge and having them powder coated or the pumper painted. It's a cheap reversible method to test ideas out.

i painted the hood on my mustang with this. looks ruff when you spray it at first but it flattens out and looks awesome. it was actually found buy a bunch of ricers. it took me a can and a half to paint the entire hood. it is a little different than spraying normal paint as well.

I love that stuff.

I did the roof on my LT1 but did too many light coats and it came out too textured.

If it chips, just respray right over the area lol.

I never tested it, but someone said you could plastiDIP then paint with normal paint over it to make it whatever color/finish you want and still be able to rip it off.

DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, NEVER TRIED.

how would this stuff hold up in the winter? Will it protect a painted surface from say salt?

Alot of 5th Gen & G8 owner's are doing this to there wheels as well. That's how i discovered plasti-dip. Its a rubberized coating that your applying, it will also pack on very easily. So take your time when applying this, tried it once on my wheels and i easily screwed it up by packing a little to much on 1 spot lol Luckily, you can just let it dry and peel off and start again.

The rivets on my wheels are currently coated with plasti-dip, they've been that way for a few months now (like 3 months or so) and it hasnt come off. Ive taken the car through laserwashes idk how many times and its still on there. So it'll hold and take some abuse.

Looks good OP, i might try to spray my wheels again sometime but i kinda want new wheels. So i might not lol

Oh, pro tip.

If you tape an area off, pull the tape up BEFORE it dries, otherwise you will have to start over =)

lol i had a band aid land on the mustangs hood and i went to pull it off and it stuck to the dip and pulled it off the hood as well.

i was told you need to test the paint on the plasi dip first before you do it on what ever you are painting because sum paint is supposed to react with the plasti dip badly

I might try this to see if I like a Berger panel on my car. You could probably make some nice stripes with a steady hand with tape for cheap with this stuff
