My friend is considering doing his '94 TA in all plasti-dip...like the entire car...

If he does, or "when" he does, I know where I will be posting pics...lmao

I will be spraying a set of SS 10 spoke wheels I bought for my Formula and seeing how they look... Not sure I have seen a set on of 10 spokes on a 3rd gen Formula. I eventually plan on painting the wheels to match the charcoal 2 tone on my car.

So can someone pretty much sum up a few things for me?

Do you need to prime before using this stuff, would it be better, or do you just spray it on?

How well does this stuff fill in scratches and low spots?

How durable is it? Does it scratch, peel, or blemish easily? Like if you were to try and clean a set of dipped wheels or roll through a car wash would the dip get all scratched up, smudge, or come off?

I'm seriously thinking about doing this to a set of WS6 rims I have... the wheels are perfect structurally but the clear coat is FUBAR and there is a lot of scratches in them. I'm thinking if I use this plasti dip on them it would fill in all the scratches and look real nice...

Seems like really cool stuff, I've been seeing nothing but good things about it. Just need to know a few things for sure...

Wash the area with alochol or soap and water.

It will cover up imperfections a bit, but not completely mask them.

I washed both my Mustang and Jeep and both are sticking fine. Just don't scrape it with something sharp or very abrasive.

Just strip your WS6 wheels and polish them.

Love this stuff, never posted up any of the pics of the stuff I plasti-dipped though.

On the current car:

The reason its not a smooth line and looks like its sticking its tongue out is because the cheap paint rubbed off from the license plate holder >.< so I decided to cover that as well and that was the best I could come up with.

Also did the roof on my LT1 for a few days, but I sprayed too thick and it looked textured so I took it off.

Miss that car.

Don't mind the cans please lol. I still need to clean the wheel wells and do a small touch up, but here are a set of drag lites done. I left the lugs, washers, and wheel screws unpainted. Think it adds a nice contrast.

Do it Ken. If it doesn't work out, just peel it off. Even stock wheels look tons better.

Jim, what I'm wondering about, though, are car washes. How well does it hold up? Say I wash my car 2 or 3 times, will I have to respray it?

As long as you put it on right, no. Friend of my ex did the wheels on his SRT8 Jeep and they have been done almost a year now. No issues with his.

I went a little nuts with the plastidip after learning you can paint over it. I plastdipped the convertible cover and sprayed arctic white over it and then did the wheels and mirrors with duplicolor metalcast over black plasti. I got the inspiration from this pic

Here's what it looks like. Not sure if I'm digging it yet but wanted to give it a different look without doing anything permanent:

So you CAN paint over plasti dip, and safely peel it all off with no negative effects? If so that's awesome.... great for me lol, I switch up my car every week.
