Without knowing what kind of primer, what kind of prep work was done and who did it, I imagine most painters would want to remove all of the primer and start over. I know I would not do a paint job over a primer job I do not know anything about.

I paint as a side business and have been painting for about 15 years. I totally agree with the above statement.

For me personally I would charge right around $3000 for the job. That would be for the pre-prep, primer, basecoat clearcoat, color sanding and then buffing the car out.

Thanks for replys.. That's what I kinda figured out about how much it would be. This trans am is 4800 but needs some work has 108k on ls1 all stock is it worth the buy? No problem cold ac ttops leather power everything but has dent behind door and needs paint and basic clean up and small fixes. Is that a good buy? Also has 1k dollar non pop up headlights too looks badass with ram air hood too

4800 with 108k miles and in need of a paintjob? Hell no. Unless you sell off some of the tacky **** it has like the lambo doors, ugly exhaust tips, and maybe even the whale tail spoiler.

Yeah true I decided I'm going to find a trans am worth waiting for and save up.. I miss my 95 but I'm ready to step up to ls1 and a standard.
