Painting my engine bay

Painting my engine bay
I'm doing a whole twin turbo build and I want my car to look presentable. While the outside may not be good right now, the engine bay will be nice. So far I've got to the primer. I'll be picking up the base/clear today hopefully and spraying it this weekend. This is my first time at painting anything with a spray gun, so we'll see how it turns out.
I'm mostly concerned about the cure times in between coats and I don't want to put it on too thick to cause runs. There really isn't much room in there either to get to all the spots. So that's probably going to make it not look as good either.
If anyone can throw me some input that would be great. What's the policy with the left over paint in between coats? I know the primer I was using had hardener in there so there's no re-using that. I'm assuming it's ok to leave in the gun for the 10-15 minutes and use it on the next coat, but I just want to make sure.
Here's the progress thus far:

Base coat can be reused, but I would put it in another can cause it will be reduced, 5-10 min in-between coats(the base will go from shiny when first put on to a flat look, 2-3 coats will do it, I would seal it if you have sealer, if you don't use500-800 wet sand paper on primer n then base over, don't forget to use wax n greese remover and blow off then use a tach rag.
Primer, sealer, and clear will have to be discarded after you finish because the hardner. You can keep base n clear in your gun in-between coats but discard n clean your gun when your finished.

When you put the base n clear on before you spray the car spray against a piece of paper or cardboard or something to make sure your pattern is good(not spaying to heavy or to light).since your spraying the engine compartment with a bunch of angles n what-not keep you air pressure kind of low, not so low it's spaying big droplets though.
Use light coats on base till covered n also on clear till it looks the way you want, 5-10 min in-between coats n you shouldn't run it. Before u clear look over the area good n make sure it's covered.
