Default Satin black painting need paint # and mix

Ok, I am looking to paint my 1977 corvette. I do not want a completely flat black look I want just a hint of gloss so a satin black. I do not want to go a single stage because have done cars with them before and they chip much easier.

I am wondering what other people have done and what is the exact paint, base, clear, flattening agents used and in what mixtures.

Thank you.

Your best bet is to get some flattening agent for what ever clear you prefer and shoot some test panels to see what you like.

You can shoot straight black base coat and then apply a flat clear for the top coat. You can increase the sheen by how you mix the clear. We use PPG at our shop. Chuck
