IMO black looks better on Camaros, body colored on Trans Am.

My 96 had the bubble sail panel. Guessing its a freek thing but still sucks.

All the cars from mid year 1998 to 2002 are affected. All those cars got the same glue, so all will eventually bubble through.

Lots of people report that it comes back faster when it's been repainted. You're right though, it won't stop it.

It's not a recall, just a TSB. Under a recall GM would be obligated to fix it, with a TSB they only have to if the car was still under the GM warranty. Since this problem wasn't really officially recognized until around 2005, many people had no clue about this issue and never got their panels replaced. Now it's too late. But yes, there is a lot of good information in that thread if you want to look for it. If not, here is my summary of the highlights.

OP, as for the original question; I'd keep it black. Then again, it's your car and if you want it body colored than go for it. I'm just not crazy about the body colored roof and mirrors.

OP, so you mean the "sail roof panel" lol. I like the black look but wouldn't mind same body color either, I had it in my old Camaro.....

I say body color. The only time I think it looks good black is on certain color cars, such as red, yellow, or orange. And even then it depends on what shade the color is. I'm very picky.
