Default Windshield Wiper Cowl Painted - Anyone?

Has anyone painted their plastic windshield wiper cowl? Mine has these white spots all over it that refuse to come out, so I was thinking about painting it some type of black

I would at least paint but I took and smoothed, filled in dummy holes (drivers side) then had to fill pass. side holes to make even.also took and sprayed screen alum. and while off sprayed area black (behind cowl) so wouldn't see red thru holes.probably got 10-12 hrs in each side sanding mostly. The black I used was Rust-oleom Universal (paint& primer) its for practically anything also has funny sprayer on it but works on most angles.if you use a primer at least use black so if you scratch you won't see gray. good luck!!!!!

That gloss black looks really nice. And I can definitely tell how it'll look when it gets done, since my car's red too. I'm definitely doing this, thanks

I did that to mine with some flat black krylon... scrubbed it down with isopropyl alcohol and sprayed it with 2 coats. Looked better than ever

I painted mine a few months ago with krylon fusion. Works and looks great, just used alcohol to prep it first.

This is the first thing I did to both of my TA's when I got them home. That faded black **** with wax on it just looked horrible.

Vatozone has some new paint that is for bumpers, it doesn't require primer, it has some good flex to it, its nice and glossy and goes on really easy, plus it has a 360* nozzel on it so you can spray in any position. (**** I sound like a salesman)

Just dont forget to reconnect your washer fluid line. Oh yeah and dont forget to cover the squirt holes for the washers before you shoot paint.

@01badbird-Do you have any other pics of your wiper cowl? Anybody else have any pics of the cowl being painted a gloss color? I can't decide if i want to do a gloss black or just leave it the satin black

it was raining, obviously. believe i also used the krylon fusion. lasted longer than the epoxy paint i tried. bought the cheap $10 wiper removal tool from advance auto, just be careful not to crack the glass, as i did one on a junkyard car, very easy to do. wiper arms were done in satin, slight difference than the cowl. i dont notice any reflection while driving.

it really depends on the color of your car and any accent colors whether to satin or gloss...

sand smooth, primer n sand primer smooth, then paint.only if its smooth, not textered.then it will look good! or use satin black spray bomb.
with all the work you've done in the engine bay, take alittle more time and do the cowl gloss black. I believe it would go good with that color also.
