Question Sunoco Hood Fitting 2002 Camaro

I've looked at all of the searches and found about 50% saying they fit well and 50% saying they don't without a lot of work. Which is it. I have had no body damage to my car and shouldn't be a fit issue if it is fabricated like an OEM hood. I have seen pictures of some and they look really fantastic. I just don't want to put another price of the hood into labor to "make it fit"!

Any comments, thoughts, install tricks, etc?????????

If you go with a vfn Hood it will cut down on alot of the pains and issues the cheap crap hoods have. No aftermarket Hood fits as good as a st0cker but my vfn Hood fit really well.just make sure to have someone around to help you put it on and adjust it.i can't tell you what to adjust without seeing it lol.hinges, *****,fenders, etc anything that can be moved that's around the Hood really lol

Dont ever buy an aftermarket hood expecting to just bolt it on and go. If by some chance you get one that does line up perfectly your pretty damn lucky. VFN will fit better, but ebay special is alot cheaper. cheaper also means needs more work... Usually

I have a a VFN that is lt1 and ls1. The LS1 is better quality for sure. The lt1 version I'm not impressed, I'm still trying to fit it. It's close, but needs work.

I had better experience with RK Sport, the SS replica hood I had was near perfect fit.

so you have a lt1 your trying to put on a ls1 ? i dont understand, listen no aftermarket hood fits good ,some fit better than others but they all need to be tweeked and adjusted, i will say you got real luckey with the rk sport hood, i saw one the other day that looked like crap, you know another thing people dont understand with vfn, is its a fiberglass race car hood, will never come close to fitting like the stock one, i had 3 body guys tell me it was the nicest fiberglass hood they have ever seen, it depends but like i said i had to adjust fenders, front clip, *****, keep moving it around untill your happy with it, i honestly wish i would have never sold my stock ss hood, live and learn i guess lol

Sooooooooooo, sounds like the VFN is the more popular one. I truly didn't expect to just bolt it on without any adjustments, I was trying to get info on who has had the best luck with ".....'s" hood! I have seen a couple SS aftermarket hoods that I would have thrown out instead of living with the crappy fit. Here in Central Fla. I haven't seen a sunoco hood up close yet but I really like the pictures that I have seen of them.

They really do have the best stuff and there great to deal with .it might cost a lil more but is well worth it,good luck man and if you ever need pics of what and how to adjust it just shoot me a pm and i can show what worked for me

Thanks........I appreciate that. I don't mind paying more for quality.......but it doesn't always happen that way. sometimes more still means crappy stuff!!!
