Default High temperature exhaust paint, what works best?

What's available besides VHT high temp?
I use to get Dupli-color 1200* and it worked good, but I can't find it any more.
What do you use/recommend?

FYI, I'm not using it on headers just further back on the exhaust.

Thanks

I've always had great luck with VHT Flameproof coating.. Suppose to be good from 1300-2000 deg.. I sprayed my duals with it & has held up great so far.

I have used VHT in the past but the spray top things they use are junk. I have had a couple stick open and loose half the can of paint.

I normally use high heat rustoleum in flat black. It is $9 from autozone and have used it on full exhaust systems to turbo manifolds and it works great. Just run it though a couple heat cycles like it says on the can and you should be good.

Sounds off beat, but I have used stove paint for years with great results! Old timers told me about it on headers. Chuck

yeah I would think stove or grill paint is about the same thing.... Most of them have some sort of ceramic in them to hold up to the heat.

I always hung my headers over a kerosene heater between coats...almost worked like a poor mans bake job, but they held up nicely!
