Looks good! Found this thread for getting rid of the wiper motor. All i need to do is take the wiper arms off, take the plastic cowl off and the motor is right there? I won't be cutting the steel cowl for a while, but what extended hoods are available for our TA's?

If I ever were to get an extended hood I'd definitely do this, good job OP.

It would make a massive difference considering the amount of time most of us spend working on our cars but I wonder about the lack of airflow through the interior. The hole behind the hood is just stuffing a ton of air in the engine bay. I'm not being critical at all. My bird only sees sunny days and is sitting 3/4 of the time. But I wonder what visibility out the windshield will be on those humid days. Everything is a compromise but I wonder if this takes it off weekend driver status.

I also have mine cut out, without an extended hood yet, and i noticed that on the highway, it makes my car run VERY cool.

I know this is a old thread but would you mind posting a pic or two of the gap between hood and windshield blackws666? Id appreciate it, trying to decide if I'm going to cut mine and I'm not crazy about the extended hoods.

Thanks, John

have you thought about laying fiberglass to cover it or one big piece of sheet metal that is dzus fastened so it is easy to remove? i have been contiplating this for mine as well as it only sees nice days and never use the dry rotted wipers...

Yeah, you definitely need something between the hood and the window, maybe a cowl hood?
