I have for a year and its fun and you feel good to see your work when its done. I chopped the top and slammed a 52 chevy truck. A guy brought me the truckooking like this... it was his dads old farm truck and he wanted it restored for his dads 74 b day. It took me 6 months but after all said and done it looked like rhis he told me je liked street and rat rods so i did this and put a 400 firebird motor in it bored to 406 and made 470 rwhp. chopin the top really takes time and patience alot of it.

Alright I know its been awhile since I've posted but I've gotten some work done on the car. Lifes been pretty hectic lately between work and my sister having a kid but finally I got the door jambs sprayed

Bumper primed/sanded

Everythings basically put back together on the inside and I got my sun visor delete brackets, SLP license mount bracket, clear corner lenses and BMR Polished Radiator cover all ready to go.

Hopefully I can finish painting the car by the end of this week but the color really is amazing, especially in person.

More soon to come

Oh and sorry for the bad quality pictures my friend has a good camera and after everythings done we'll get some hi-res pics

Slight Update:

This project might be in the backburner for a little bit because my grandfather, who is letting me use his shop, is in the hospital and I'm not sure when he'll be back in good shape so until then the only thing painted is my jambs

Glad to hear your grandfather is doing well. I live with mine and he's healthy as a horse at age 90!

Question: is your Camaro at a body shop in Weymouth? Saw a red one parked outside pine near my girlfriends house today.

Nope but that's where I bought it. It had the nose repainted but the paint was chipping off.

Its funny because the kid that I bought the car off of, bought it right as my friend was gonna look at it but he ended up later with a 99 SS.

There's a lot of f-bodys over there though

I think its more of a preference thing for most people. It was my first time painting jambs and I just did it seperately.

It was tough doing the jambs getting in weird tricky spots with a spray gun so if I had to do it again I would certainly do it seperately. I also used an aerosol can for the clear coat too which made it easier; for me anyway.

Alright so I know its been awhile since I've made any progress but the person who is letting me use their shop to work on my car is my grandfather, who is 80 years old (but still kicks ***!) and he was diagnosed with Lyme disease so he was out of commission and I didn't want to rush him back into things but now he's back and I'm really starting to make some progress.

I jacked up the car, to help paint the rockers, and began prep work and masking and here's how it looked right before paint.

Dusted the panels with sealer:

PAINT!

Sadly my phone died right before I cleared so theres no pictures of the car right after I cleared it but here are some pictures of the morning after

Today I also painted the shaved berger and SS spoiler

Clearcoat

More to come in the following days and the car should be done at some point next week.

Sadly I don't but over the winter I plan on getting some new rims/tires and lowering it as well. The car sits to high and the 245s make it look bad but it'll have to do for the time being unless I can find a good deal. But I kind of want chrome C5DD 18x9.5 but we'll see how my taxes look
