how to strip filler primer off a urethane bumper?
i sprayed it on too thick or too soon and it caused cracks in the primer. i put it on thick so the cracks are deep. tried sanding and it takes forever.
i heard of sem bumper stripper but cant find it anywhere. would aircraft cleaner eat through the urethane?
cant do any blasting to it. dont have the tools or money.

Yep only thing you can do...
Next time go with lighter coats, and maybe an additive like bulldog it makes the paint flexible..
Honestly though it just sounds like you got it super thick, ive had regular primer (no additive) on my front bumper for 6 months now

You have to get a urethane paint stripper like this.

Lighter coats next time and use a flex additive! Also, you have to spray adhesion promoter on bare plastic first before you shoot the primer.

^is that sold at any stores?
yeah i sanded most of it off with a rougher sandpaper.
i'm painting YN aka Silver Metallic. i have a problem with the paint coming out too dark.
i'm using 2 stage this time. base then clear. what things could cause it to come out too dark? just all in the painter? do i need to spray a sealer primer on it is filler primer find for the last coat before base coat?
what air pressure should i use for the paint and clearcoat? using a gravity gun.

I usually run the gun around 20 to 25 psi...both clear and base
I dont paint everyday, just do it for myself cause i got tired of lazy worthless bodymen.
If its coming out too dark you may need a lighter color sealer and try to throw another coat of silver on there just to make sure....That is if your paint is mixed properly...

I painted a red base one time and used a darker gray sealer..
The sealer was showing through the base thus making it off a shade or 2 from the rest of the car...
Should have used a lighter gray sealer

Red is a tricky color to cover on a panel. Sometimes it takes a few extra coats to cover everything up. Thats from my experiences anyway

it depends on how deep the cracks are in the bumper. most of the time you will have to sand it down with 80 grit and then use a product from crest called dolphin glace, its made for bumpers so it can flex

I wouldn't use a stripper on a plastic part It can softin the plastic and then when it drys out it will be brittle best bet is to sand it down with 80-180-240-320 then spray with a plastic addheasion promotor and prime with a primer with flex additive 2 med coats let flash In between coat let dry if u have damage to your bumper that primer can't fix 3m makes a Duramix product that works really good u just mix it up and apply it like bondo to the bumper over 180 grit scratched u can actually cut a bumper in half and put it back togeather with this stuff by using fiber mesh think I said enough sorry for the blabbing

the cracks are in the filler primer.. i'm using rustoleum filler primer.
its on ureathane Roush side skirts. said bumper because i thought i'd be easier to get an answer.
sanded the cracks. thought i had them gone but sprayed the light grey filler primer on and they're still there. tried to just spray a thicker coat on to cover the cracks up but that didnt work. gonna sand them back down tomorrow. atleast its a only a few now.
where do they sell the urethane airplane stripper at? besides online
