I just need a guess of how much it may cost. An appraiser came by the house aand said 2400 to replace it and repair some body damage to tge door and bumper plus repaint all thats touched. But that seems like way too low

insurance adjusters always write low estimates. take it buy a good body shop in your area. dont let the insurance tell ya where to take it, its your choice.

^^^^^I agree. I would take it to a well known body shop and have them write up an estimate. Then the adjuster will go in and throw out another number and tell you how much they're gonna pay. Just don't have the body shop go overboard. I don't know how much the repair has to be before they total it.

Had mine done a few years ago and at the time there was no one making that quarter. So it took a month to locate a used panel.

But for a bumper, tail light panel and d/s rear quarter paint and labor was around 4.5k

That's money right there. A good bodyman will love that 12+hr repair job. Don't have them replace it. My shop just repaired a qtr on a 3rd gen last week. Definitely ain't gonna find a qtr for a third gen so we repaired it. Not quite as bad as yours. But still. Good luck with your insurance, and ask around for a good shop.
