Another update to this old thread. Got back to a widebody project I started earlier this year. Top of widened quarter panel is from a 69' charger. Eliminating quarter windows , extending sail panels, making steel rear visor, & completely redoing outer portion of aluminum bedcover.

It's like Batman looked at a 1959 El Camino and said he wanted one. I love watching people do stuff like this, its so off the wall and so much of a specific taste that practically the only person in the world who can deliver that kind of thing to you is yourself. Imagine trying to describe this car to someone out of your imagination...Insane skills man, good job.

I would probably buy a set of hood hinges that worked like that purely for the convenience it would provide me to wrench on it.

Turning the upper vette bumper cover into a functioning tailgate. Made an inner structure from a fullsize truck tailgate. Had to make it slide back before dropping. Hinge design has stops to eliminate the need for hold up cables.

Thanks. Smoothed out metal & polished black paint definitely won't hurt it's current look. Bought it out in public a few times in unfinished condition, which is definitely open to criticism.

Confused a few real vette owners.

Did first round of bodywork to bedcover & 2 coats epoxy primer. looks decent in pics, but will still need a few rounds of sanding & priming before paint.
