Default Stock hood modifications

Hello everyone.
I'm a bit new here I've had a 2000 Red Z28 for about a year now.

A few weekends ago I bought a stock hood for next to nothing. I know it is probably not as light and defiantly not as good looking as an SS hood, but for the price i could not pass it up.

I was looking to maybe turn it into something functional. Custom work is not a problem, but i am drawing a blank on design ideas.

What does everyone think?
Thanks

Mold in and paint a cowl? Not functional and just adding weight, but it may look cool?

Heh. The hood it self only cost me 30 bucks. I'd like to find a decent not over the top looking scoop and make it functional to get a little more air under the hood.

I would like to get an SS hood at some point in time, but most of the stock ones i see are a little bit pricey at 600-800 dollars.

I seen one on here under the classifieds I think was $500 or so and there were a few on my local craigslist that were in a junk yard for $700-$800. I seen a few functional scoops at Summit Racing for about $150.

I had been keeping an eye out for a cheaper SS hood locally. I had not planned on buying the stock hood, but when i seen it there for only 30 dollars the idea popped in my head that if i could at least get a functional scoop on it to help keep the engine a little cooler at the fraction of the cost of the SS hood it might be worth a shot.

I thought maybe someone here might of been in the same situation and been able to give me a few ideas. I've done a little work to my car. (Air Box, Headers, and LS6 intake), but it is not a fire breathing dragon or anything, and i don't want anything that you would see on a full built drag car, but I of course don't want some Pep Boys cosmetic ones ether.

find a small scoop of ur liking, mount it backwards in the design of a cowl hood, with the hole facing the rear, mounted so its near windshield. if custom work is no problem blend in to match.

I say give it two air extractors like the 03/04 cobra hoods. It will look good and be different, not just another SS look alike.
