Can it be fixed? frame damage Hi guys new to this site and pretty new to body work. I bought 1999 camaro that I thought was not too bad. I WAS WRONG. Guess its what I get for assuming. When I first bought the car the hood, front fenders and bumper didn't line up well. I thought it was mostly do to poor repair of what I thought was minor body damage.
I thought I would freshen up the the car smooth and paint the engine bay and got a surprise when i got it all apart. Half the core support had been replaced. Also both frame railed have kinks in them. Biggest problem I have now is I bought a tubular k-member and it does not line up as I expected. I have talked to a few body shops and some sound like they will perform poor quality work to get it to work. The new cross member is only maybe a 1/4 inch off on only one attachment bolt holes.
The vehicle is on jack stands and I have been looking for a i-car certified shop but most that are choose not to help in re pair because of liabilities they say. No one has actually came out to look at the car. Really hope I am over reacting to what would be a simple repair to a frame specializes but I don't know. I can tell a few things have moved around I was hoping if I post some pics someone with a more knowledge would be able to help me out before I take it to a shop and get poor work performed.

pic of the bmr member and the alignment pin the bmr pin was bent alittle out of the box i don think it was ment to be but also seems the original pin is was drove on the frame and kinked it right at that spot.

it needs to be measured and see how far out of specs it is.and with the motor out it shouldnt even be an issue.you just need to find someone that knows what theyre doing.which is the hard part.

It may have been repaired to within specs back in the day. Especially with it being a 99. Back then few body shops would have been using laser frame machines. Most of them were still using the good old hydraulics and chains. Doing a little tug then measure and repeat until its within acceptable tolerances. I would say this is a feasible scenario if the car was involved in the collision between 99 to 01. Most likely after that they would have totaled it. With todays tech though that's a quick fix with the engine out! Have fun with the resto!
