Hood Or Bumper Doesn't Line Up Right????
There is a gap between the hood and the front bumper on the passenger side front of my camaro. How could i go about finding out if it is the hood or the bumper, and why would just one side be off? Could the hood possible be bent a bit? The car was like this when i got it a couple weeks ago, so i have no clue how it got this way. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This little gap drives me crazy!

Check under the hood to see if the plastic headlight braket that runs from left to right is cracked or has been glued back together, my camaro looks the same way from that bracket being busted.

The gap between the hood and the fender on the passenger side is just slightly larger than it is on the drivers side, but it is definitely bigger. The bump stop on the passenger side is actually missing lol so I'm not worried about it pushing that side up.

Hey, I just installed the VFN fiberglass 4" cowl on my 2001 Camaro and had to adjust the "Hood Levelers" they twist down and up to level out the hood as it rests on them, Maybe that could have something to do with the lift on the passenger side?
-Could be a easy fix, Goodluck !

Here's what you'll be looking for, yours will probably be black, check the bottom side if the piece for cracks too.

UPDATE!!!!:
Upon closer inspection of the bar thing that supports the headlights, i have discovered some strangeness. This is the area i am referring to.
There is a bracket on each side of the car where this bar thing attaches to the rest of the car (probably to the core support, but im not sure). The bracket on the drivers side of the car (the side that isn't messed up lol) is broken (seen here)
The bracket on the passenger side (the messed up side) has a bunch of shims or spacers of some kind on it. (seen here)
Do you guys think that removing some or all of those shims or spacers will close that gap in the bumper? Here is a picture of the misalignment of the bumper with the fender on the passenger side (the messed up side)

It almost looks like the car got wrecked at some point and those shims are there to help get it close to being straight. You can remove them, just remember where they go incase it doesn't help.

That was my thought also, those ghetto fixes scream wreck. I would definitely put replacing the header panel (that big plastic part that the headlights and front bumper bolt to) at the top of the list. That will help you narrow down any more issues you might have, like a tweaked core support or damaged brackets. Try and find a decent one from the junkyard, the GM header panels are much better quality than aftermarket ones.

I just removed the shims and the gap between the bumper and the hood on the passenger side is A LOT smaller now. It still isnt quite perfect. I assume this is due to the drivers side bracket thing being broken. It is dark out right now so i can't get any pictures right now, but i will post some up tomorrow.

I finally was able to get some updated pictures since i took the shims out. I wouldnt say it is perfect now, but it is certainly a ton better, and honestly its good enough for now for me. You can definitely tell that it is better, especially in the second picture. (It was also warm enough to take the ttops out the day after christmas in indiana! )
