Question Over a month to repair front end?

Took my 1993 Trans Am to my local body shop over a month ago after I hit a deer on my way to work. The estimate came to $3100 and honestly am surprised they didn't total it. It has about 130,000 miles. Does anyone think this is taking a little long to get fixed? Thanks

A quick check of KBB.com shows that in very good condition your TA would book for a little over $2k. Are you sure it isn't a total loss and your insurance just hasn't processed out your claim yet? I can't see a month at a body shop to repair the damage shown in the pic. Good luck.

Yes I'm sure. I got the check from the insurance company two weeks ago and its made out to the shop. The shop told me it was close to being totaled. They said there having a hard time getting the headlight. Also I have the copy of the estimate. Its not totaled but they somehow ordered the wrong headlight assembly twice.

New hood. Fender. Bumper cover. Headlight assembly. It seemed really high to me too but as long as it gets fixed I don't give a damn.

It is definitely taking longer then it should but there are many factors that can slow a process down, parts (whether being sent wrong parts or just waiting for parts to show up period), insurance company (they can drag their feet with supplements or rechecks, etc), shop (overbooked, just putting on back burner). It is kinda surprising they didn't total the car, but I'm sure they're fixing with used or aftermarket parts anyhow.
