WS6 Color Change Price

WS6 Color Change Price
I've got an 01 WS6 that is Pewter. Hate the color, but bought it with intentions of turning it into a project. It's a clean/straight/unmolested T/A, which is what drew me to it initially...
As it sits right now, it is a shell. Powertrain is out, interior is out, all external lighting and housings are out. It wouldn't take much at this point to pull the bumpers/fenders, hood, etc and strip it down.
I want to get the color changed, nothing flashy, probably to either black or white. Just a simple, clean color.
I guess my question is at this point, with the car stripped down like it is, how much should I reasonably expect to pay for a "quality" color change? I don't mind breaking the car down further if needed and showing up with pieces, I just need someone to spray it. Car needs no bodywork or repair, just color.
Thanks

I would say at least 2 grand from a decent body shop.

2 grand sounds way to cheap to me, I went to several shops about getting a hood painted, No body work at all. Most were in the $500 to $800 range. $500 just paint and out the door, Cut and buff added another $200.
I guess it depends on what you really expect. around here 2k will get you budget materials and a quick paint job, Just don't expect a mirror finish and black is going to need a lot more labor to look good.

When I worked at a shop we had a few people come in saying the same thing. "Nothing wrong, no body work needed, just shoot it". Are there any spots where there's a paint chip, door ding, scratch, etc? Most people say it needs nothing, but in reality, it does. The price will start to climb once you really start going over it with a fine tooth comb and find little things.
Having it stripped down will save you some money. How far are you wanting them to go is another question. Door jambs, interior, engine bay.......or just what you can see on the outside? I'd say, to be on the safe side (and it's been a long time since I was in the body business) plan for more like $4k. If it turns out cheaper, then cool.
Best thing to do is at least take pics and go to some local shops, to get a ballpark to start with, and then know that the price WILL go up once they actually get it. They'll likely find issues you never knew were there. Gotta go talk to them and work out how much will be done on your end, how much will be on them though.
OH, totally forgot, what about the sail panel? Do you know if it's been replaced? If not, it will have the bubbling issue so you want that addressed as well, especially if you go with black. That will pop worse than you've ever seen, look around at the pics people have posted, it's like a 14 yr olds face.

People don't actually know what material costs. To buy just a good sealer, and enough quality paint, and clear to do the car in just say black, your going to have at least a gallon of sealer, a gallon to a gallon and a half of paint, and probably 2 gallons of clear. Just in materials you can have over 1k easy. Of course, you can get cheap materials. Next to no pigment, hell just use single stage and blow it on or hose it or roll it. IMO, if your not getting a GOOD paint done, wrap it. Someone else may like the pewter when your tired of it.

Best thing to do is to find someone that had a paint job done in your area that's looked amazing still several years after it's been done and then go to the guy that painted it.

I'd wrap and save $5k
