Firehawk hood question
Picked up a 2002 Firehwawk about a month ago that needs some work (blown motor and some other things).
I'm trying to figure out where to get a safety hood latch because they don't seem to exist anymore, and I have another question about how the struts mount to the fiberglass hood.
Passenger side strut is missing and there are 2 ~1/2" holes that are definite not threaded. How do the bolts hold the strut mount on the hood?
Are there blind mates? If so, how do they get held in place?
I'm wicked confused and cannot find the info anywhere... And yes I did extensive searching on this site, and google.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Jim
I have put a couple on where I cut a piece of 1/4 aluminum and used resin and fabric to attach it to the
underside of the hood. (Drilled and nut serted the holes then filled with playdough so the resin wouldn't go in them.
I also pre-roughed the aluminum with 80 grit for some surface bite.
Either way, wicked disconcerting to get a response like this

I know nothing about them. May call this week but really wish someone from legacy SLP could answer

it might be in your best interest to store the hood and grab an aftermarket hood since finding parts is next to impossible. I worry about that with mine.
I'm gonna have to weld something for the hood latch. I have the mechanism but the ring handle and rod are missing. I was actually thinking the things they give you to open paint cans would be perfect to just weld onto the latch.. pull towards front of car and safety latch pops.
