Default Firehawk hood question

Hey guys,
Picked up a 2002 Firehwawk about a month ago that needs some work (blown motor and some other things).

I'm trying to figure out where to get a safety hood latch because they don't seem to exist anymore, and I have another question about how the struts mount to the fiberglass hood.
Passenger side strut is missing and there are 2 ~1/2" holes that are definite not threaded. How do the bolts hold the strut mount on the hood?
Are there blind mates? If so, how do they get held in place?
I'm wicked confused and cannot find the info anywhere... And yes I did extensive searching on this site, and google.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Jim

I've seen some fiberglass hood where your supposed to epoxy a riv-nut in to the hole for the bolts,,
I have put a couple on where I cut a piece of 1/4 aluminum and used resin and fabric to attach it to the
underside of the hood. (Drilled and nut serted the holes then filled with playdough so the resin wouldn't go in them.
I also pre-roughed the aluminum with 80 grit for some surface bite.

anybody with a firehawk hood know how the strut brackets are bolted onto the hood? I can go the epoxied rivnut route but would really like to know how it's supposed to be done.

I emailed SLP but have not heard back.. If they respond, I'll make sure to post here for the next person, but if anyone knows in the meantime, i'd still love to hear.

Just an FYI. Roush bough SLP back in 2014, and is now called SVE Specialty Vehicle Engineering, still in Toms River, NJ. I asked them and they told me to call a junkyard in Alabama who specializes in 4th Gen F-bodies.
Either way, wicked disconcerting to get a response like this

Some lady named Maryann from SVE told me to contact Billy Graham's Camaro and Firebird Salvage in Calera, AL.
I know nothing about them. May call this week but really wish someone from legacy SLP could answer

I can snap you some pics tomorrow of how the struts attach to my hood. I’ll also grab a pic of the hood latch so you can see what you are searching for. The Firehawk hood latch is different from all the other firebird latches.

it might be in your best interest to store the hood and grab an aftermarket hood since finding parts is next to impossible. I worry about that with mine.

Thanks. Interested in how strut mount on the hood actually bolts to the hood.

I'm gonna have to weld something for the hood latch. I have the mechanism but the ring handle and rod are missing. I was actually thinking the things they give you to open paint cans would be perfect to just weld onto the latch.. pull towards front of car and safety latch pops.
