This thread may or may not help, but there are some pics showing the conversion from an LT1 to an LS1 style front end, etc. 1995 Firebird 4.8L Street/Strip Turbo Project - LS1TECH - Camaro and Firebird Forum Discussion Sorry to hear about the car being a total loss, that sucks.
For what its worth, I got the engine, transmission and almost everything in the engine bay plus the head lights back in over a three day weekend. Granted, it was a long three days but it can be done. I did everything but guiding the engine and transmission into the car solo. I had my girlfriend help guide the assembly at the bottom. I put the engine in through the top, but removed it from the old one from the bottom. This was because the K-Member and suspension on the old car was jacked up and I didn't want to deal with those pieces.
I had never undertaken such a project before doing that.

Having a one car garage makes things rough. I never considered that as you don't see houses built that way in Texas that are newer than about 1950.
worse...im in a apartment. So I think I'll pull the ls1 out, pull the kmember out, put that k into the roller because it's getting a 6.0, and move over the trans, cross members, etc. Piece by piece. The ls1 is going on a stand and into the tahoe in the spring once it gets dressed up some plus that'll give me time to make sure the lq doesn't blow since its my first motor I've built.
Went and saw the roller today after work. Buying it in the morning. It's gonna be a massive amount of work here soon. Guy pulled the usual suspects for his swap, odd being a lt1 but each their own im not complaining. Getting it for 500, black interior I was planning on buying already, straight body, new sway bars, strut tower brace and18inch c5 rims. As soon as it gets here im going to start tearing it apart, selling what I don't want and getting what's left of the interior for my wiring and sound system. Like said before I stay busy after work for my sobriety so I'll either start a new build thread or keep updating this.
