I will never buy another GM product again. The way they treat their customers after the sale is ******* insane.

These cars are cheap quality POS with a corvette engine. I've given up all hope on this oil burning, piston slapping **** pile. 10-bolt OMG what a joke.

Their quality control is so ******* bad One car is great the next is junk.

I'm tearing it apart and turning it into a full-on strip car. General Motors deserves to go out of business.

Can't use the right glue...sheesh And have the nerve to deny their DEFECT!!! **** 'em they lost me, and I have money, and buy cars every few years. I hope someone at GM reads this. Bastards.

Just bought my car the beginning of February. I'm the second owner, with 60K miles. There were no bubbles when I bought the car, but now there are. The only time my car is in the sun is when I'm driving it, which is not very often. I'm going to see what my local stealership will do.

Instead of complaining about GM not wanting to fix your car, file a suit or file with the BBB, GM will answer a knock on the door from the BBB. Even your denying Dealer will not want a ding from the BBB on their local, public business record.

I had bubbles on my low mileage 2000SS (9K) and asked they be fixed right after my warranty ran out in 2003. I was armed with the TSB and the dealer was still somewhat reluctant since my warranty had expired. Eventually he agreed to fix it so I went ahead with the work. But in my discussions with him, I believe I stumbled on the real reason dealers don't want to fix this problem. GM does not provide them with enough hours to do the job......hence they don't get reimbursed adequately. I forgot what he told me at the time, but the hours he said GM allowed and the hours it actually took to do the job have a huge disparity. So the dealership winds up eating the extra cost from what I can tell.

The bubbling issue is a result from a manufacturing defect/oversight. Those cars with bubbles did not have the underside of the roof panel primed/painted properly resulting the the glue gases being able to penetrate the roof material. The only fix is to have the roof panel removed and replaced with a properly primed one. Repainting the original panel won't solve the problem.

Well I'm about to go through this with a dealership in Silver Spring by Baltimore. I'll keep you updated. PM will be sent.

Mine just started doing it about 6 months ago. I have a 1999 with 82K on it do you think that I can get away with going to the dealership about getting it fixed?

I have seen this on almost every 99-02 f-car I have ever seen, being here in FL it makes it worse for non garage queens.

I have yet to see any of these bubbles on any 98 cars, not sure why?

Mine has it. All over the "roof hoop". An hour after a wash and it looks like tree sap has dripped on the roof. But, it's just glue oozing up through the paint. But, $880.00 !?!?!? Do you get a jar of Vaseline with that price? I talked to my local Chevy dealer's body shop about this a while back and they won't pay for it but, the guy said he could replace the panel for about $150.00. Then again, he's a buddy and usually charges me cost for parts and I pay the painter cash on the side.

I have only seen one main bubble on mine, as well as the standard rippling from the glue, but I think I'm going to check for more next time I wash my car.

As someone else in this thread said: If GM won't answer me, maybe they'll answer to the BBB. I'm just afraid that they'll get pissy about it and treat my car like **** while it's in the shop.
