Man, that car should have REAL FLAMES coming out of it since he d!cked you like that
Seriously though, going off of what you told us, what a friggin deadbeat!!! Sorry to hear that...
Question though, what's up with the clear coat here:
It looks really bad in the pic for some reason... Not just orange peel but almost hazed like it was sprayed wrong or too sparringly... Is it just the pic or were there issues? The rest of the car looked like glass...

demonbird, The picture of the hood is before clear. It was the best one that showed all the detail without the clear reflecting everything in the booth.

Sorry to hear that Stryker The flames look very nice!
One question- before you took the trip, did both of you agree that he would pay for 4 days? If so, then who gives a **** if you decided to do it on whatever schedule you wanted as long as you got it finished in the agreed upon timeframe. IMO, you worked 6 hours of overtime that first day. OT is usually time and a half. So lets see, 6*1.5 = 9 compensated hours. Add that to the first 8 hours of that day, and the other 6 hours the next day, and you should have a total of 23 compensated hours. That is about 3 days it would have taken you if you had worked 8 hour days. Plus that extra day is almost always neccisary when dealing with custom paint jobs because **** DOES happen, and an extra day would definately need to be accounted for just incase. So IMO he owes you every cent he shorted you PLUS more. Did he pay for materials? Either way, no other professional painter of your caliber would have done it for $1200 PLUS travel expenses. He would have been laughed out of any pro's shop making that kind of offer. Hell, you can make $500 just flaming a lid and intake manifold! Why in the hell would you want to travel and pay your own expenses for that measley chunk of change? Sorry for the long rant, I just hate to see a friend screwed
