Default I was in a wreck last night :(

http://home.earthlink.net/~kingnothing86/car%20wreck/

There are some pictures there of my 02 pontiac WS6. I'm guessing it's repairable but it's kinda like I wish it wasn't since it will probably never be the same again.
I was driving last night on a 5 lane road (2 lanes each way with median). I was in the far right lane catching up to a chevy 1500 truck in front of me. He was in the same lane but he moved over to the left lane. As I was almost next to him, and slowing down to turn onto the feeder road, he decided to get back over without looking and made a sharp turn right into my left front. Me & my roommate went into the right side curb, got airborn, took down some wooden posts holding up a sign, and then finally came to a stop in the grass next to the road. His front right wheel that i nailed fell over sideways and was just partially connected but not too much other damage for him.

Mine looks bad but I was wondering what you guys think since this has never happened to me before. I've had my baby for 5 years now since new. I'm so sad now but at least the guy in the truck didn't try to blame it on me at all. If you look in the pics, the car is leaning really bad to the left but that may just be because of all the damage up there. On the front right, you can see where i flew into those signs. I can't tell if my rear axle is out of line or what but it definitely doesn't look right. Also, the driver door is hard to open and the paint is cracked along the edge by the door handle. The passenger side door has a large gap there. What do you guys think? Will the insurance have it fixed or total it? My car is at the local Pontiac/GM dealership right now. I'm also kinda wondering about how all of my mods will effect the repair process. This sucks!
Thanks guys
-Chris

dude. i feel your pain mann. from what i understand is that if your chasis is bent out of wack, they may just total it, but new technology is re-squaring chasis is available but i think theyre pricey. I had just about the same types of damages to my camaro about 2 months ago bro. but my front end wasnt so damaged just my fender like yours except mine was on the passenger side. I had to replace my fender, front ground effect, and entire right front suspension assembly. good luck w/ your repairs man.

I bought the 98 TA that I had from a guy here (he bought it back from the insurance company...I picked it up that way). It was wrecked worse than that (jumped a curb). The insurance company had totalled it....but the car was easily fixed with a few thousand.

I normally wouldn't post pictures....but I feel your pain and I don't want you to feel discouraged. I purchased my '02 brand new and I would be devestated if something like that happened.

Here's my $.02. The insurance is going to pay to fix it. Don't have the stealership fix it. Find the best possible body shop in your area or within a reasonable distance. Doesn't matter if they aren't cheap....you're not paying for it.

The car is perfectly fixable and they can make it like new....*BUT* you want somebody to fix it RIGHT. Do your homework....talk to people in the car community.....talk to a bunch of shops and ask if you can see some of their work. Post up in the regional forums and see if you can get some references from people there. Find somebody who is experienced with bodywork and paint to mentor you and help you make sure if a bodyshop's work is good or not.

Good Luck!

You are in Spring, you should have taken it to our site sponsor. Richey Collision, they are in NW Houston on Veterans Memorial, north of the Beltway. They could get that car looking brand new again, they specialize in Corvettes and customs.

The buzzards are circling. Insurance will probably total it. But, that does not mean it is not repairable. Just need a good shop.

Ouch, and I almost tried to occupy the same space w/Mustang SVT yesterday, as we were both weaving in/out of traffic! I took the high road, he took the low road and we both almost ended up in the center lane at the same time.

Sorry about your bad luck, and best wishes. These days you gotta look behind/ahead/sideways/underneath and overhead.
