Default Put front bumper and fender on then paint or paint first?

I recently got into a small fender bender and decided that i was going to put the fender and front bumper on myself but i do not know if i should have them sprayed first or put them on and then have them sprayed? any suggestions?

i think they put them on first. i would think it is easier to match the paint with them next to eachother.

Can be done either way, on or off.
If it is a good pain match I would paint them off the car. One reason why is so you can get good coverage around the edges and jambs. Which will give better protection from the pain pealing and lifting at the edges.
A good body shop should unbolt the bumper just for that reason, or even remove it as well.
If you plan on installing the parts yourself I would have them painted off the car. That is provided you have a VERY good paint match and dont require the panels to be blended into the others.

well you need a good paint shop that can photo-match your paint color, but keep in mind it wont match 100%, thats near impossible, so they blend, blending is done when, say you replace a hood, you then put the hood on the car, and wetsand the tops of the fenders, you then paint the hood and some of the fender blending it into the fender paint, that way you wont be able to tell the color might be slightly off, im putting a new 98+ front end on my t/a and im painting slightly into the doors to blend.

Front bumper cover MUST have flex agent in it, so it needs to be painted off the car.

Putting flex ADDITIVE has nothing to do with painting on or off the car. It's simply an additive like Bulldog that is mixed in with the basecoat and clearcoat. I agree the bumper or any other part that can be removed should be removed if it's an easy color match.

I say removed, that way you dont have to mask off the rest of the car/engine bay.

I have done this same deal. I took both pieces to the bodyshop and had them paint it. Then I installed the parts myself. Think about it: Less **** for the bodyshop to mess up and less labor.
