Default Trouble fitting fiberglass hood

Had to do quite a few things to the hood to get it on then when I get it on it sits higher then the fenders and its pretty noticable tried adjusting pretty much everything. Only thing I can think of is making some brackets to bring the fenders up. Anybody else have this problem and how did you fix it ? Any help is appreciated.

Try bringing the hood hinges down if you can. Got a pic or more detail of how its sitting. May have to slot holes to make it allign.

Ouch, looking ruff now. Did you have the hood painted before it was ever on the car? It is better if you have it one the car for about a week or so with daily driving so that the fiberglass cures completely and has no chance of changing its shape at all.

For sure the driver side hinge needs to go down. Make sure that the hood stops are screwd down on the passenger side also.

The hood also looks twisted. You need to drop the driver side down, then loosen the hood latch and pull the center down. After that raise the hood stops in the front driver side to make the passenger side drop down some to. Try all that and see were you are at.

I had to slot the brackets on my hood to get it lower in the back. It's an exercise in patience to get these aftermarket hoods to fit. Hang in there.

i have never used a aftermarket hood and not had to put several hours into correction on them to make them fit and look like oem. if it's too off it should have been sent back but most times its something a good body man could have corrected for a hundred or so before paint.

Get some hood pins and be done with it. That thing looks like it'll never be straight. Line up the hinges even on both sides-ditch the latch and put 2 pins, one behind each headlight.

Dude I know what is wrong with it. That hood is for a trans am not a camaro! No wonder it doesn't fit. I can see how you could get mixed up with them both being f-bodies and all.

I can relate! Put my fenders on today, my cars been wrecked in the past... but the latch is all the way up, fenders all the way down, and still the hoods too low. Its extremely frustrating, but you'll get it figured out.

eeekkkk! if you dont mind, did you buy a quality hood? i know a less expensive/quality body part will usualy take some massaging and maybe even some reshaping...not somthing to do after the hood is painted...
