Default Got in an accident today!!!

I was pulling onto 264 in virginia beach Va. I was following a friend of mine in his SS. As we pulled on the interstate off of Rosemont there was a few open lanes of traffic so we merged to the outside HOV lane. He was hauling ***, so I speed up to catch up. I was going about 80 and as soon as I got about 50 yards behind him a guy in an F-250 Decided to cut me off. I slammed on my brakes so I would not end up under him, and my brakes locked up completely, I spun out before I knew it doing 2 complete 360's and as I was facing on coming traffic still spinning I got hit by a 99 honda two door. Witch then spun me out one more time before I came to a complete stop. The pictures show the damage, witch was worse, but I pulled the bumper back out on the Passenger side tire whale. In order to drive it home. My buddy that was in the passenger seat has it on video, And you can see the guy cut me off. As soon as I get the video witch is not the best, I will post it. And as is it goes I end up getting a ticket for Reckless driving Failur to control vehicle. What kinda bullshit is that... THat should be a nice hefty fine. I even showed the cop the video that we were not racing or anything.

But what I was wondering was, how much do you think this will cost to fix?? It was mainly cosmetic, as far as I can see.

So for you auto Body people please chime in so I can see what to expect from it.

i'm not an autobody guy but i'd estimate about a grand or so...you'll need a new front bumper cover, passenger side fender, lense and paint...shouldn't be more than a grand.

that sucks though man...goodluck!

I just got backed into and had similar damage to that. They're gonna replace the front bumper cover, front fender, head light, maker light, and fog light. All and all mines gonna cost the insurace $2100 so your's will probably be right around the same, minus the 360 for a new head light.

It wasn't coming out of my pocket so I told the body shop estimator, a good buddie of mine to stick the insurace as had as he could.

It is going to cost right at 3,000 for the insurance company to get my car fixed. and I will have to pay 113.00. Because I have a VFN hood that I am going to have them paint and put it on to replace the stock one.

Wow, that's about the exact same damage I did to my car a few days ago. The police found the other guy at fault, but when his corporate insurance adjuster spoke with me he said that cops don't get to make that determination

I need the same fender, the bumper, tie rod, new wheel (LCA dug into the inside) so far as I can tell at the moment. His insurance is Progressive and mine is Nationwide. I accidentally initialed a 'no OEM replacement parts' section of my re-rate last year, so I screwed myself there. Hopefully my friend at the shop can work some magic getting at least some good used parts. If the price difference isn't bad, maybe I'll take the check and pay extra to use OEM.

The adjuster even said that depending upon the amount of the damage they might total the car, ('98 w/ ~112K miles). F' that.

you're looking at $450 for bumper, $250 for fender, $27 total for both brackets, and maybe turn signal but not sure can't see it and don't know cost but I have one if you're intrested just PM me. About $200 to paint each. Cross your fingers that it didn't push **** back.
