Default How Front Frame Rail Look?

I got in an accident and am curious how the original stock frame rails look for the front clip. I know the left rail (driver side) is bent inward but the right (passenger side) is bent outward and was curious if they look like that from the factory or if it was bent outward from the accident. Thanks!

Sorry to see that!....... Ouch
In that condition it look to be a total loss.
I just repaired one a few months ago. It was hit a lot higher, which saved the rails. Due to the damage being up much higher. Once the rails are that tweaked there is not much you can do. With out spending a lot of money and time.

Here are some pictures that show the position of the rails.

Put a fork in that one....

she's done!

In CAN be fixed, by swapping on a whole new front clip. This would entail drilling out hundreds of spotwelds and basically replacing everything in front of the firewall. I might be worth it if it were a super low miles 35th car.. but otherwise it's way cheaper to buy a new one. Sorry to see it.

My trans ams front end swayed over 8 inches but my apssenger fame rail was ok so we used that as a measuring point. What you need to worry about with that car is bend way back by the firewall. You rarely see me say a car will enver be right again if you fix it right but this is just one car that has so much damage the time and money that will be put into it could buy you a car that hasnt been wrecked. If you got a rack i'd be willing to bet your suspension in the front is also bent to some degree and your k-member isnt sitting right.

The only way for that ever to be fixed right would be to find another car to backhalf. Cost you about 1500 to 2500 from an experince frame guy. Thats where someone would cut the front frame rails forward and replace it with yours. They way your car got twisted so far back it would be damn near imposible to line the rails, and be able to get the body panels to line up worth a ****. Sorry it happen, but in an expensive way it is fixable.

all it takes is money, but you would seriously have a ahrd time getting that stuff right. My trans am took over 3 months for me to do by myself and i only had to cut my rail off on one corner and pull the front end around, you got an entire front to do with both rails.

well damn this aint good to hear.... i dunno if im willing to dish out the money and fix this front end clip up. do you guys think it would be wise to pull the motor and everything else to see how far back up near the firewall the rails are bent. so what cost do you guys think I'm looking at? +4k?

yea his bags blew i can see where the windsehild always shatters from them. and yea you better drop the motor and all out see how far back they are wrinkled up. My grandpa did this kinda body work for 50 years and i mess with him and we have a frame machine and even he wont touch something with both rails hit like that jsut because theres so much damage and its so ahrd to get the front squared up again

With the bags gone too, junk it for sure. Unless there's a reason you need to keep that particular car (sentiment) You'll do yourself a big favor by just starting over.

heard it was actually more than that, 3k-4k it seems on top of however much it will take to bend/cut the frame rails and front clip...

although I'm really interested in saving this car after putting about $15k into it ontop of what I bought it for. so money is not as big of an issue right now. but if its like over 10k I will put a fork in her
