Default i was in a wreck! :( :( UPDATES W/PICTURES!

anywas the other night around 6:30 i was trying to drive home in my camaro on 3 inches of hard ice and around 4 inches of snow.....i was only going about 25mph down the interstate when a semi beside me jacknifed his truck and hit me.....i did about 2 360's and then ended up on my driver side in the median...which really was a ditch that was full of water...i ended up hitting hard enough that it threw me and the car on 2 wheels and then slammed back down.....here are the pics....it dosnt look to bad on the pics but in person u can see the hundreds off scratches......my main question is to anyone who has done damage to their f-body is how much damage id done....the front bumber is cracked and broke, headlight, hood, fender, door skin, back fender, back bumper, and the hatch is gracked....oooohhh and the mirror.....also what sould i be worried about if they dont total it...the entire car sat in about a foot of water, that iced over night....the car was submerged in water to the back bumber......any help would be great!

It's good to hear you are okay! That's the most important part. I was in a wreck a few months ago when a guy hit me and it's been a nightmare ever since. My biggest tip to you is take the car to where you want it to go. don't listen to anyone else. Mine ended up at a shitty dealership body shop & it's still there. $10k worth of damage and they didn't total it. There was quite a bit of frame damage too. All the work being done is shitty & they tell me I can't move it or they won't pay. I think it's complete bullshit. Now I have to sell the car as soon as I get it back cuz every time I go look at it, I can see every repair made since it's such a poor job.

GO WHERE YOU WANT TO GO TO HAVE IT FIXED!!!

I hope you have a thousand times better luck with this than I had
-Chris

Yeah take it to where you want it done at. If the frame isn't bent then it shouldn't be totaled. Its a lot of work but it could have been alot worse.

Thanks goodness your okay.

My car was hit back in April. it needed a quarter panel, hatch, bumper, and p/s door. the insurance company claimed it totaled, but i bought it back from the insurance company, found used parts, and went to my body shop and had it fixed. The only things i bought new were the quarter panel and the rocker. I ended up having enough extra money to buy rims and tires. I personally didn't think it should have been totaled, but it depends on the insurance company and how much they think it's worth.

Hard to say without seeing if theres damage underneathe and so on. Definetly fixable, so if they would total it, buy it back!

An adjuster will probably write that for around 6K in damages. You can defitnately fix it cheaper, but that's aprox. the shop value of that fix, if it needs about three hours pull time. I can't see it too well to estimate how badly it's tweaked.

I remember when I went to work and I drove the camaro in. People looked at me surprised telling me that there was a snow storm in the forecast. I drove back home and my supervisor came with me in his car then we took his car back to work. Glad I did that because the storm was very bad.

I always used to tell people that I don't mind driving in the snow but I worry about the other people who may hit me in their cars.
