My guess on why there is a blackened panel on the Berger Camaros is because back in the late 60's- early 70's all big block Super Sports always had a blackened panel of some type, whether painted on, like the 1967 Camaro SS or Impala SS or a black trim piece installed like the 1970 Chevelle SS or Monte Carlo SS. I can assume then Berger took the idea and applied it to the rear of his cars even though the engines are big inch small blocks.

I did it 'cuz I like the way it looks.

I am not a fan of berger panel. But I do think it looks better than the CETA on the TA.

I think if you go ahead with it you should leave the "CAMARO" lettering the same color as your car. It looks better than the whole panel being black, it just doesnt look right.

i sanded my stock one primered it, then shot some flat black rattle can paint and you cant even tell it was done with spray paint. I think you should do it

I did mine in ultra-flat rattle can without primer (never painted anything before), looks more charcoal than black. dark-greyish. if you like that, go for the ultra flat black. i think i'm going to redo mine this summer and do gloss black.
