Default Powder coating question

Can the stock intake manifold on a LS1 be powder coated? If it can be is it better to powder coat this or paint it?

There may be a new product out, but obviously not everyone has heard of it. So the above statement is correct in dealing with traditional powdercoating that everyone knows about.

Best bet for these intakes is to paint them.

I believe that you'll be holding in more heat if you paint it? Don't know if that will be an issue for you.

yes traditional powder coating is metals only
but this new product is sprayed on like paint and then cured
i how ever would not put a thermal barrier on an intake nor would i on a throttle body

Question is: How is it cured? Is it baked like regular powder coating. If so, then that's what prevents it from being used on composites. Or is it air cured?

Any links to the product. I'm curious to find out more about it.

Thanks
Bryan

I found a guy that says he can do the powder coating on my intake for me. Here is a link to the one he did on his own corvette.

yes you can powdercoat your stock intake, I have done it. I have been buying LS1 intakes from guys on here and practicing on them. I have powdercoated 3 now with no problems. 2003z from your link is a great guy I have been talking to him about pcing plastic. He actually did a set if FRC's. If anyone wants a powdercoated LS1 intake let me know, I have 1 red and 1 black sitting on my work bench.
