Original vs. shop paint quality?

the bottom of the hood is rock hard b/c they prob painted it before the top then flipped it over painteded the top which they forgot to use the proper amount of hardner in. if done right single stage can be good paint, but its always best to use base/clear

yes it can, chrompremier single stage is the absolute sweetness. especially if you toss a coat or two of seperate clear over top of it.

You can get a bit of shine out of base guys. My friend does really cheap body work for the local used car sales men to just get cars to look decent and sell them/auction them off, and on many occasions they don't clear over base when they spray small scratches..

you might get a decent shine out of sikkens or lessonal bases but after like a month they will fade if not sooner. Whatever kind of paint they used its messed up because it never got hard. So it really doesnt matter what it is he has to sand it off.

Oh i have had the problem of adding the wrong additives to clear before i added double the activator instead of the hardner. The product never got hard enough but it was easy to wipe off with laquer thinner because it never got a chance to turn into a 2k product. If you are going to fix it and you are going to sand it down try some laquer thinner on a small spot and see if it whipes off.

I know here in the USA, California doesn't allow Urethane based paints. It must be a water based because of the Smog and other emission laws. Your country may be the same and only allows certain kinds of paints to be used.
Does DuPont sound familiar to you?
