Thinking about putting an SS hood on my Z28 and I have a couple questions for people that have done this before. If I do this I'll be getting an OEM hood from GM, so it will be exactly like the stock SS hood in every way.
First, do I need to get a different set of hood shocks for the SS hood? Or will the Z28 ones work? I'm guessing the SS hood is lighter due to being fiberglass, so I was thinking that the shocks for the metal hood might be too strong?
Second, I know that the grille for the hoodscoop is a different part that's separate from the hood and must be ordered separately. My question is, how does this scoop insert attach? Does it just pop in? Screw in? Or is a special adhesive needed?
Thanks for any help.

I'm pretty sure the hood shocks are different, but when I put the SS hood (also OEM) on my B4C I didn't change the shocks and it was fine. Of course it could've been because they were just worn down or something. If you're spending the money on an OEM hood and paint you might as well just buy new shocks to be safe.
The scoop grille is a snap in.

i put the ss hood on my 99 z and was wondering the same thing however when i looked up the part numbers on the struts they were the same so dont worry also get the rubber strip that mounts on the raditor support to seal the hood
