Yeah, just keep the hardtop. T-Tops are great because I have them my self, but if your car didnt come with T-Tops then just keep the hardtop. If I had a hardtop I would keep it as is even after the experience with T-Tops!

I wish my t-top car was a hardtop sometimes. If i had a hardtop i would never chop it up. hardtops are uncommon these days, almost every camaro or firebird i see is a t-top car. very few hardtops. thats why they made windows

There is a reason why you see so few hard tops...nobody wanted a hard top camaro when they were new...

I am really, really lazy. If I remember to, I'll take pics in a couple weeks by the GG bridge when I head up to Marin to pick up my gun. I don't drive very much, and the car basically just sits in the garage, and is pretty damn dirty.

I'll try my best, though.

These cars were designed from the get go as a t-top car. They do not inherently display more flex than a hardtop car. I will however agree with the possibility of leaks. Mine don't leak after 120000+ miles but I do have a slight drip from the window and a-pillar.

i would say go for it and do it yourself or get someone on this forum to do it for you. I have been looking into this for a couple years now. It doesn't seem that hard. And as far as people talking about leaks......**** my HARDTOP LEAKS!!! if it rains hard enough water drips in by my a-pillar on my drivers side door! And no t-top cars do not have extra bracing, and NO HARDTOP CARS ARE NOT RARE. I can guarantee you that. Hell just here in little College Station, Tx. I know of 5 hardtop Camaros off the top of my head. I say do it! I will probably be right behind you!

No, f-bodys were made on a convertible car platform. And don't display more flex!? Over half of the structuring of the roof is pure glass. I have seen too many f-bodies launch hard at a track and blow the t-tops right off the car due to the way it's built. Ever seen a sub 9-second t-top car? Unless it has a roll cage from hell to stabilize it it'll never happen.

Then why is it when you cut the roof off of a hardtop car and cut out the 2 "beams" there is a latch already in there? Seems to me like they made the t-top car and then when they did the hardtop all they had to do was tac weld the 2 "beams" in on either side and glue the roof on. I think the convertible is in a class all its own. Just my .02 though

they were all T-top cars from the factory, but the hardtop cars got metal beams in place of the t-top latch and handle side. all the weatherstripping channels, bracketry and holes are already there for t-tops. your not going to see any sub 9 second cars without cages, you dont run that fast unless you have a cage. or atleast not on a NHRA track.
