How do you stop the windshield and the side windows from getting scratched?

How do you stop the windshield and the side windows from getting scratched? My windshield has light scratches onit from the windshield wipers and it annoys the **** out of me when It hits a glare. In prev z28s I owned, I've changed the wipers and it seemed to still do it. and I formed a complex and now I never use my wipers. Any way to stop it? it kind of seems like there is too much pressure on the wipers.
Also. Every camaro i've owned gets the scratches on the side windows. I've tried taking the felt out on my first z28, but there were no replacements for the felt.
any ideas?

The wipers dont scratch the glass, its the dirt that gets scrubbed into the glass by the wipers. Same with the felts, if there full of dirt then they will leave scratches. Also, you have two felt glass guides behind the door panel that wear out over time and should be replaced.
Keep your car clean, avoid dirty roads and dont use your wipers unless its raining.

the felt is in there with one or two bolts you have to pull the door panel and it should come right out...replacements can be bought at any gm dealer for less than $15, i've had to do it on both of my ws6's

it comes as a little brakcet with 1 bolt holding it...and it goes on adjustable so dont forget to adjust it
on the windshield shot in the dark but can you wet sand with 1000 then 1500 then 2000?
or simply buff it with a buffer...lol
