You could buy a nice first gen and throw on some bolt on items and have just as nice if not nicer ride for a whole lot less. DSE mini tub and the hydroformed subframe would be a great start. Although, the mini tub deal does take some fab skills. I put one in a 67 and it was a bit of a job. 100 K would build one heck of a first gen though. I think I would have enough left over after the build w a 100K budget and start another build.

I saw that CHP article when it came out. I guess it would make sense to use reproduction 1st gen metal on a 4th gen if you could do it yourself and had a cheap 4th gen to build on.
But to pay someone to do that would be a huge waste of money considering all the stuff available for 1st gens. There are at least 10 different sub frames available for 1st gens now, and pretty much every company that makes one has a rear suspension to go with it.
