Default 98-02 to a 69 Camaro body panels?

I thought Year One sold this kit, but I might be wrong.

Any one know off hand?

It's not a "kit".... There's a company that does the conversion, but it's a metric assload of work and they start @ $100K.

For some reason I was thinking they sold all the body panels, but that sucks if they don't! I remember seeing it in that magazine and pretty sure I saw it on Horsepower TV earlier this year as well. It was some extensive work, but looked nice!

Wanting to try something different and find a Camaro with light body damage.

ya, that is not a do at home kit. There is a LOT of modifications that must be made the 4th gen chassis in preperation for the 1st gen panels. One of them being cutting and stretching the unibody. Even if retro rides offered a bare modified shell for sale, it would proberbly be very expensive to buy considering your buying one new 1st gen outer shell and 1 used 4th gen unibody with tons of hours into it. Plus think about all the other parts a 4th gen owner would have to either buy or fabricate to get the car complete. The interior alone looks like a lot of hours went into modifying the 4th gen panels and dash. Trust me, I would love to be able to buy a modified chassis and just swap parts from my 3rd gen over but its not that simple. Im sure someone over there will think about the idea of selling a kit form so us guys can finish it at our own pace. It would be nice to build that car in stages just like the fans of the cobra replica do.... but then again, that might get scraped when the 5th gen roles into production and people just buy that instead of payinh over 100K for one of the retro rides models

I just emailed retro rides and asked them what the deal is on the "phase car" and if it is offered for sale. Just think about how cool it would be to build one of these cars in your garage. The guys from Factory Five do it all the time with the cobra. So, you buy the phase car shell, swap over as much 4th gen fbody parts as possible and then whatever dont swap, sell off to help fund new parts for the new project. Seems like a sweet new idea to me for us Fbody guys. The ford guys have been doing it for years already with the cobra and the foxbody.

Go buy a clean first gen and call up DSE or ATS. Write them a big check and you can have a first gen that will outhandle a fourth gen, and not have the retarted shock towers and floorpans of the late-model.

I am with this guy.

If I wanted to do this I would hit up some junkyards and find the real deal. Nice idea but so much work. You could fix up a Michigan rust bucket and have plenty left over. An Arizona car for a fraction of what they want.

dam that engine bay looks 10x tighter than a regular 4th gen fbody. i would hate to put headers or do plugs/wires on that thing. "is that a misfire?, ahh its cool i dont need the other 4 cylinders anyways it can wait..."

and yea, for that just buy a 1st gen in decent, even horrible shape. You will still ocme out better than trying to put peices of this "puzzle" together and probably spend alottt less. jus my .02

Exactly, I already have little desire to work on my car as it is. I hate it. Nothing like an old car. Pulling heads in this car would be insane!
