It's almost just as strong as stock if I had to guess. Maybe stronger in some spots. The frame rail was modified and welded nicely. The trans crossmember was modified and welded up good. Lastly, the sheet metal was all welded together and welded to the frame rail making it one unit. I am not losing sleep over strength there.

Thanks for the comments.

I like it. But I think I will leave mine with the hump in it because my boyfriend is really tall and has a hard time fitting in the passanger side so that means we take his truck more and he has to drive!

Major kudos on taking an idea and making it work. The way W2W did theirs is different so you definetly get major props.

That looks a lot better. It doesn't seem like anyone would ever have to put their feet their but it is much more aesthetically pleasing.

If i had any know-how on welding that would be awesome to do, i have ridden in my passenger seat a few times and it sucks *****.

im not so sure about changing the rails and crossmembers....seems like you might be taking passenger comfort over structural integrity. i can count on one hand how many times ive had a passenger in my TA. its a drivers car.....not a passenger's car.

I understand that the majority of you who have posted may never sit in the passenger seat. That is fine. I also understand that you would never consider such a modification. I thought it was a good idea, and let me tell you it is night and day difference from before and after in terms of comfort. Regarding strength, I don't think I sacrificed any strength. The factory components are welded in, probably better than the factory welds. I'm no engineer but I think the final result outweighs any potential strength decreases if there are any. It's not like I am Autocrossing this car or racing it hard at the drag strip, not that it would matter. It's a street car.

Well enough of me babbling, I figured it would be nice to post up mine and my friends idea on here.

That's pretty cool. My wife is 6'1" and she's always complaining about leg room for the passenger side.

Sad part is, she's not in the car enough for me to give a ****.

98-99 V8 cars have a cat there as well.

great work, I am not sure if i would do it, but it certainly makes it nicer on the pass side.
