The bottom of the lift ramps goes to 6', so add 3" for the ramp height, and then to the bottom of the chassis.
I'll put it this way, my buddy Tommy welded in my subframe connectors and he's at least 6'3" and he had no problem being under there.
In this pic, the TA is one lock from the top, so add another 6".

I can ask. He did this when he was unemployed for a month or two so he had time during the day to do it. I don't think catted or non-catted would make a difference as long as its an aftermarket ypipe. Stock exhaust manifolds and stock ypipe might pose an issue.

I was over Brien's house today and took two pictures of the underside. It's basically what I described above. The dark marks you see is where the exhaust heated up some of the seam sealer. Eventually, the whole underside of my car will be semi gloss black and/or undercoating.
The above pic shows how close the floor is to the ypipe. Even with PatG's car shown below, and the heat shield, you can see how far away the ypipe is from his floor board. Note the placement of the cross member in both cases. Mine is almost flush with the ypipe.

If you look at the second picture you can see how close the floor is to my ypipe now. Go look under your car and you'll see that the floor was lowered like two inches. Once you start cutting things out, it can only really go back together one way when using the frame rail. I guess you'll just have to figure it out.
Good luck!

It was a decision at 8am on Saturday morning while I had to run into work and Andy made it to my house by 10am. We were done by noon and he was on his way.
This spring when the weather is better and I have more time, you can stop on over.

Yay!
Hello and g'day from down under...! I was super excited to see this article, since I have a right hand drive converted car and I was thinking of getting someone to do this for me.
Just one thing: I would like to know ho much room this leaves for a cat underneath the floor? I have a high flow cat on mine, so there should be enough space to drop the hump, but by how much, I'm not sure...?
