how long should i wait to wash

no your car is not a dish it is not cutlery and u do not eat of of it

the only time it is exceptable to use dish detergent is when u are stripping the wax and grease off before u do a repair but then u wash it with water and then petroleum based wax and greese remover after that(alcohol based if its a plastic part)

though im sure it wont reck it the first time using dish detergent will ruin paint eventually. It oxidizes it and generally drys it out removing alot of its lifespan.
