I would recommend 3 months, from research and hearing from a paint shop specialist.

I have never heard anyone say to wait 3 months to wash a car after paint. All the cars we spray are wet sanded, buffed, and washed within a week of coming out the booth. You need to wait 1-2 months to put wax on it but you should be fine to hand wash it by now.

You can wash it with no problems, after the paint has cured or been baked. You will want to hold off on waxing it or using sealer for a few months. I'd talk to the shop that did the work, they will have the specific info for the paint manufacturer that they use.

If it rains be sure to at least run some clean water over the car when it stops raining so the acid doesn't leave spots on the paint since its new w/o any wax.

you don't have to wait to wash it, the shop that fixed it probably washed it before you picked it up

like post above you can wash it now, but i would only use dish washing liquid and nothing else untill time to wax. the dish washing liquid will get all of the road grime and grease off the car without hurting the paint...

In my autobody class, we paint, cut and buff, wash, and wax all within a week and its never hurt any of it. I would say on washing you could do it within a week or 2 as long as you dont scrub hard or use any harsh soaps.

We use good ond Dawn for wash soap on new paint. It helps pull dried compound out of cracks. The only soap you dont really want to use right away is the kind that supposedly has a wax in it.

If you arent careful, dish washing detergeant can actually dull the clear coat and make the car feel rough.
