Question outer door panel seperating from door frame

i just purchase a 98 z28 a couple days ago...well i didn't open the passenger door when i was looking at it. when i open the door from about the upper 1/2 to 1/3 of the outer door panel has separated from the door itself...i can see that it used to be glued on, anyway of gluing it back on? or do i have to take it to a body shop to do it?

You could use a 2 part epoxy, just don't use polyester fiberglass resin whatever you do.

are you talking about the stuff that you would use to glue plastics back together on sportbikes?

would gluing it back together technically be fixing the fiberglass? i just bought the car and i am trying to find a motor because the oil pump died on it and is knocking pretty bad. so i am trying to save as much as possible on fixing the other stuff. thanks for all the replies.

take it to alocal body shop and they should have you out of there in 5 mins, shouldnt cost more than 10 or 20 bucks. the adhesive used(panel bond) to put on door skins is stronger than welds believe it or not. no need for you to go but a whole tube and the special gun used. at the shop i work at we wouldnt even charge you for something like this, literally could be done in a min or two.

I agree with the panel bonding. Cost will very alot though from shop to shop. I know my boss would be charging an arm/leg for this (as he would be making it out to be a bigger deal than it is) so you might just want to shop around.

Good luck on getting it fixed and the rest of the build.
