Hey fellas im gonna be repainting my car soon and would like some suggestions... we are repainting due to chips in paint and we overall just hurried the paint job so need some help. I love the look of Black Wheels with the machined lip and painted calipers.. so please humor me and let me know what looks bad(Rice) or good.

Right now as it stands its Blue TrueFire on Black on the hood and sides:



we are repainting it with the traditional TrueFire colors just on the sides no where else. so i photochopped in some rough flames.

I like the last pic best. You are getting the current rims painted black? Something about them doesn't look right black. I don't know what it is.

i was thinking about it... i kinda like the black with machined lip but on Y2k wheels its kinda iffy.. if someone would like to trade TT's or other black/machined wheels thatd be great!

Agreed. I was thinking that the Y2K's look smaller black. I had those rims on my car in the avatar. Too bad he died.

i like the last pic. just some ideas though, what about leaving the center cap on the rims chrome or paint the center cap black but have chrome lug nuts. just some ideas

thanks when we actually paint it, it will look 10x better lol.

i think im gonna go with the majority and leave the wheels the way they are and probably go with a flame pattern on the last pic where it comes from the top of the wheelwell, dips down and comes back up. still not sure on color though lol. i do like the blue but i dont know what it is about it people like to make fun of it for some reason. yesterday i walked out side to leave my girlfriends house to find that someone had thrown a cup of tobacco spit at my car and hit my front fender. splashing it all over my windshield and ttops. thats the last time i park there. People these days dont appreciate art and hard work.

oh another question is what is the darkest black out there? we used PPG black last time and it was too "light".

oh ok thanks is the color name just black? do you by any chance know what the paint code for Phantom Black Metallic is?

thanks for your vote. i think ill be going with that version only leaving the wheels the way they are - polished.

Yep it is just their black base coat, and it is as black as black gets. If the phantom black metallic color that came on the GTO's is what you are asking about the code is WA690F.
